Frida Kahlo Challenge!

Frida Kahlo was born on July 6, 1907 in the house of her parents, known as La Casa Azul (The Blue House), in Coyoacán, Mexico.

The coming July 6th marks the 102th Anniversary of one of twentieth century's most important and revered artists, Frida Kahlo, who literally embodied pain and tragedy and used art as a process of spiritual and metaphysical transformation.

The Spanglish Team and Etsy Owls Team have gotten together to jointly create a commemorative challenge to celebrate this important event and share with other members one of the inspirational forces behind some of the most important feminist and social movements of our time, both in the US and in the rest of Latin America and the many artistic expressions that it has inspired.

The challenge consists in creating unique items inspired by Frida’s work, life, times, influences etc.

The items will be displayed in our Etsy shops beginning the 3rd of July until midnight the 5th of July.

The voting to select the favorite will be conducted on the Etsy Owls team blog and will run for one week, ending Monday 13th of July at 10 pm eastern time.

The good news is that I got a new freelance gig that is giving me a lot of work, the bad news is that until the project ends I won't have time to work on my own stuff. I can't wait to see everything, though!
